"The vast desert and steppe flatlands of Kazakhstan offer little in terms of visual stimulation and should only be attempted by the hardiest and most mentally stable of cyclists." This is where I am about to sink.
While waiting for visas, I spend a week in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. During this forced but welcome break, I take the opportunity to visit the city ... and its embassies!
After my crossing of the Kazakh desert, I land at Beïneou, last town before the Uzbek border. The desert continues across the border, and promises to be even worse than what I just went through. I have to decide if I continue by bike or if I take the train.
