It has been 6 weeks since the Burmese army regained control of the country in yet another coup in their history.

This is the sentence that comes to mind when crossing the border between Burma and Thailand. What is strictly correct is another country! But above all, it is a giant leap in time.

Fred and I continue our journey in the Burmese countryside. We continue to face a lot of difficulties but the smiles and kindness are starting to pierce my shell.

All texts recommending destinations always include the reason “for the people”. I myself have praised here the inhabitants of certain countries that I have crossed. But the Burmese are unquestionably in a class of their own.

To each country, I tell myself that the next one will be easier. I'm starting to think there won't be an easy one ...!

We sometimes wonder how certain places have become so touristy. For Bagan in Burma, the question is rather to know why this place is not it more famous?
