Wishes for 2020
In this new year, I wish us to better understand how lucky we are to be on this Earth that we treat so badly.
In countless parts of the world, waste is thrown where the hand falls. And these act like a magnet. A first rubbish attracts a mountain of others.
We're better at home at sweeping it all under the rug. But if our roads are not littered with garbage, we are still a long way from being able to afford to teach lessons. We all already know individually what we could do to improve our deep footprint.
This subject particularly marks me since my horizon is too often filled with plastic and broken glass. After a few years in the stifling Asian heat, I now find in the South American summer this feeling of rolling under the heating elements of an oven. And I tell myself that the great migrations to countries with milder latitudes will happen sooner rather than later.
I therefore suggest that we start this year each with a strong personal resolution in this direction. No need to declaim it on social media or make it a public gesture. A promise to oneself and daily actions are more important.
To all of you, I wish a happy new year and I look forward to seeing you in conferences, writings, videos and photos. Wherever you are, thank you for your welcome, your advice, your invitations and your kind words.
