I'm leaving for a year!
I still have a hard time believing it, but I'm leaving for a year, almost all expenses paid!
When Airbnb told me that I had been selected for the Live Anywhere program from over 314 applications, I thought I had misheard the number.
I saw this online opportunity just a few weeks ago. The giant San Francisco company provided 12 people and their companions with accommodation and transportation around the world for a year. The kind of occasion too good to be true. I still decided to fill out the form.
A few next steps quickly followed. I promoted my application with a video and then in a few meetings on Zoom. Each time, I took the next step without daring to make too many expectations.
Now that it's official, I'm reading the bios of the other program participants and am more than proud and happy to be part of this amazing cohort!
It was in Malaysia that I wrote my first volume of Histoires à dormir dehors. Seems like I write better (and faster!) Outside the country. My project from this fall is therefore to finish the second volume, which will deal with my 2 km cycled from Malaysia to Japan, then in almost all of South America. I plan to take advantage of long-term stays offered by Airbnb in various places around the world.
Depending on the regions that accept my vaccines, I will therefore offer you texts and photos of places that will change approximately every 4 to 6 weeks. Even though my bike won't follow me around every corner this time around, I'm not worried that I can continue to meet and introduce you to the good people from everywhere!
