China in three words

I filmed my journey all over the place during the several weeks I spent crossing part of China by bike. The country is huge and complex to understand and explain. Yet that's what I'm trying here, in 3 words: explosion, diversity and adaptation.

I have already told how much I had found China difficult to cycle. It was hot, humid, and the topography is often difficult to navigate. But it was not my first country with these challenges. The real problem is that the Middle Kingdom is complex. Much more than I could imagine. And since there are always two sides to a coin, I decided to try to tell these two sides within each of my three words.

Construction is all over the great country.

Modern infrastructure often rubs shoulders with picturesque villages.

The countless wind turbines are just one of the signs of the great Chinese modernity on the way.

The Chinese are multicultural and multiethnic, perhaps even to the chagrin of the central government.
