I go around the globe

The original plan was to run for a year. Cycling 15 km from England to Vietnam. Somewhere along the way, I decided instead to continue my journey. And to go around the globe.

I made this decision last September, some five months after my departure. I was still far from being at the end of my troubles, but after having crossed the Alps in the snow, the Kazakh desert in August, And mountains of tajikistanI was now convinced that I had the strength to cycle back home.

In fact, not just the strength to do it, but the urge to do it.

And then, around the world sounds a lot more incredible than “only two continents”, doesn't it?

As I said at the end of September to Patrick Lagacé from La Presse, I still cannot believe the possibility of crossing country after country by the strength of the legs. Perhaps even more than the fantastic landscapes and the wonderful encounters, the challenge and the pride of crossing every border in pedal bike gives me more than the physical and mental strength to continue this adventure of a lifetime.

Asia

In fact, it even seems that the further I go, the faster the kilometers add up. I remember almost all of my first 5 km, from the start in March to the middle of Turkey in June. Then, the next 000 were much more difficult, but also even more enjoyable, bringing me from the Caucasus to all the countries in Stans of Central Asia.

And my last 4 km in Southeast Asia went by so quickly that I can hardly believe that I have already been in this region for almost four months and so many countries.

Currently in Vietnam, the rest of my cycling route should make me continue for a while in Southeast Asia (Cambodia, return to Thailand, then Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines), before bringing me back to the mainland in China. , followed by Korea and Japan.

Obviously, all this is subject to obtaining the necessary visas and transport!

Americas

Finally, I will cross the Pacific in a way still unknown. And I don't know how high either. All options are still open, from Vancouver to Buenos Aires. I don't want to plan everything in advance, instead leaving a little room for improvisation and motivation of the moment.

What I do know is that you will eventually see me coming from the west, and that the most motivated among you will be able to ride the last day with me. To the finish line, to the start line.
